Nokia and Zeiss have a long history together. Yes, it’s the same company which has powered the camera of most of the camera-centric Nokia Phones, and the Lumias which ran on Windows 10 and Windows 10 Mobile. Today, HMD Global, the new house for Nokia Smartphones, has announced that it’s preparing to bring back Zeiss Optics to future phones.
Interesting to note that Zeiss is not just bringing the optics and the camera module onboard, but also the sensor, software algorithm, processing power. It’s going to be a complete package, and it makes sense as Nokia doesn’t have the same set of developers & engineers it had during the days of Nokia Pureview 808 and Lumia 1020. Below are the two main goals:
- Exclusive collaboration sees ZEISS innovating in imaging experience on Nokia smartphones
- Rekindles commitment to set new imaging standards for Nokia smartphone consumers
Nokia recently launched their first set of Smartphones powered by Android which deliver a great experience with Android 7.0. However, the market is competitive and with Camera being the center of a phone, Nokia needs to have strong partners on board to get the best experience to the consumers.
Now the real question is will we see a 41 MP on a Nokia’s Android Smartphone? Well, time will tell, but I am sure this is one expectation every Nokia Fan is holding up to.
