Official Version Number for the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update is 1709

As Windows 10 Fall Creators Update Rollout is closing (October 17), we will see more, and more bug fixes for Insiders. In today’s build 16288, Microsoft has rolled out tons of bug fixes for PC which will make it even more stable. This update is rolling out for Insiders on Fast Ring only, and not for Skip Ahead users.

As promised, Microsoft has shared that water mark is gone, and now the official version is numbered as “1709”, which is also the official version number of the Fall Creators Update. Though it’s not the final build no, the version number is fixed. Microsoft also warned that the desktop watermark may reappear again in these upcoming builds.

Below is the summary of the fixes :

  • Windows Shell which includes Facebook messenger app failing to accept the enter key, action center badge counter was in accurate, and tons of notification shown up when the PC was unlocked after sometimes.
  • Input improvements around UWP Apps, Languages, Emoji picker,  and so on.
  • Microsoft Edge got fixes for PDF view, open with previous pages would not load, fix for behance.net,  and so on.
  • Gaming issues for Ghost Recon and Skyrim has been fixed.
  • Fixed an issue where PC gets into sleep mode after signing out of Remote session.
  • Fix for when Store apps would begin to fail to activate after being launched a few times.
  • Fix for Spotlight stuck on a particular image.
