In an exclusive post, Windows Central reports that Xbox’s next biggest update will be delivering Xbox Graphics to any 1080p TV sets. When Microsoft announced Project Scorpio, the question that went unanswered was whether or not you will require 4K TV to run it. The question, however is answered now, and the good news is Project Scorpio would not necessarily need a 4K TV to give you the awesome experience, you can get it even if you have a 1080p TV.
As you all know, Xbox’s new update will come to the existing Xbox One users too. Project Scorpio will come with Shader Model 6 (SM6) and shader compiler improvements. Now, SM6 is nothing but an API for creating shading, and the new update is loaded with features that will save developers time and resources.
So, the question here is how exactly Microsoft is gonna run 4K games on 1080p TVs. Well, Project Scorpio makes use of supersampling technology. We do not much much about supersampling yet, but we sure as hell know that even if you don’t have a True 4K TV, you can enjoy Project Scorpio.
Project Scorpio update is said to make the Xbox the strongest console ever built. With features like, 4K gaming, 6 teraflops of power, 32 GB memory bandwidth and 8 CPU cores, and much much more, it surely will.
However, to get the full benefits of Project Scorpio, you will require a 4K TV. WC confirms that Project Scorpio will come with a 4K Blu-ray player, powered by HDMI 2.0a with Wide Color Gamut and HDR.
