Wikipedia needs no introduction as it the largest online encyclopaedia. There are many apps to read Wiki content on Windows Phone, but the new Wikipedia app (unofficial) is really good. This is one of the best Wikipedia apps for Windows phone with neat interface and a lot of options. In addition to a quick and easy access to articles, there are a host of features like favourites, languages, location based searches etc.
When you first open the app, you have the option to search or view the article of the day. The search shows instant suggestions as you type.
The app shows the article in pretty good readable format. You can choose between a dark theme or light theme. You can also open the links in Internet Explorer. There is also option to view the previous version of the opened article.
From the article, you can also share it on social networks like Facebook, Twitter, Email it or message it. You can even add it to favorites list to view them at a later time. The favorites and history list are managed from the app home screen.
Another option available on the app home screen is location based articles. When you select this option, the app searches for your current location and finds all the articles near to your location with Bing Maps. There is also a list view of all articles close to you.
The app also features an offline mode view article without internet connection. Without any doubt, this is probably the best designed Wikipedia apps for Windows Phone.
