You Only have 10 Days to Roll back after Windows 10 Upgrade

Microsoft rolled out Windows 10 Anniversary Update on August 2nd, and if you are one of those persons who upgraded from Windows 7 or Windows 8.1, you only have 10 more days to roll back instead of the usually 30 days from the day of upgrade. Microsoft took this step so consumers can get back their space, specially those who dont have bus space on their hard drive.

Remember, this is only for those who mostly aren’t aware that it is possible to manually get rid of the backup, and stay confused for over a month. As reported by SuperSite for Windows, this is how the “Go back to an earlier build” looks right now:

Windows 10 Roll Back Period

SuperSite for Windows also reports back the response from Microsoft spokesperson, and as per them it was a data driven decision to change this rollback timeframe from 30 to just 10 days:

Based on our user research, we noticed most users who choose to go back to a previous version of Windows do it within the first several days. As such, we changed the setting to 10 days to free storage space used by previous copies.

That said, this is what I think. IMO, Microsoft should have an option available for consumers who are upgrading from Windows 7 and Windows 8.1, asking them on how long would they like to have the backup available for rollback. What do you think?
