Add Extra Column of Tiles to Samsung ATIV S with WPH Tweaks

When Microsoft announced GDR3, a lot many users though it will bring the capability of adding an extra column for tiles on Start Screen to all Windows Phone users. Sadly that wasn’t the case and its only for devices which have Full HD support like the Lumia 1520 which we expect to be launched tomorrow at the Nokia World.

That said, it doesn’t mean that it cannot be done and that’s what WPH tweaks, an app developed by Jaxboxt and now open sourced, can do to the unlocked phones. Since Samsung ATIV S is the only phone which was unlocked and has a possibility of getting all the hacks, Devs has rolled out this feature of adding one more tile to it.

This is made possibly by changing the screen size in the registry and it’s clearly shows that it is possible to have tan extra column even to the devices which are on 720P. I am sure you will love to have this on Lumia 625!!!

Also in the there are two different modes,  “Large screen mode” and “Big screen for start screen. Large screen mode affects all built-in apps like Mail, People etc while the Big screen for start screen affects only the start screen.

Note that this hack is only possible with Samsung ATIV S running on GDR3 which you need to manually update via unlocked tool or the App Store of Windows Phone.
