Add Shortcuts to Windows Phone Action Center–Quick Launcher
Windows Phone 8.1 Notification Center aka Action Center allows to have only 4 quick settings which can be changed only from pre-defined settings that comes with the OS. Not to mention that you cannot have apps hooked on to it and it’s basically not the purpose because Windows Phone start screen is it self a big ass app launcher.
Nevertheless, the developers are never short of ideas if you really wanted to hook an app shortcut to the notification bar, Quick Launcher app for Windows Phone just lets you do that. The app hooks up an app which shows up all the time, right where you see the notifications i.e under Quick Settings.

One of the biggest advantage of using this app is that you can launch another app quickly without going to the start screen or even using the back button to resume back to an app.You can easily skip all those scrolling and searching and be more productive.
It’s in Beta Right Now:
The app is launched in beta phase which its bit limited but gets the job done. Here is the deal:
- Its allows only predefined app to get hooked. So you have Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp, WeChat and Cellular Settings.
- Hitting on the back button, shows up the app which is really not needed, but I guess it’s happening because this is how the OS behaves.
- As new notification arrives, the quick launcher is pushed down. This defeats the whole purpose of having anything pinned to start screen. Probably they need to run a background service which can change the priority all the time.
Those who love the app would always want more but sadly there are limitations because not everything in Action center is open for developers. So you cannot have action buttons like Bluetooth toggle but only text can be displayed with action attached to it.
The app is free to download and use but I am pretty sure this is going to be a paid app ion future as it improves. I hope there will be perk for beta users.
