Amazon is rolling a small, but useful update for its Alexa app which allows users to share Alexa Skills with your friends which can be either on a social platform or even email and so on. The only restriction is you need to have the skill enabled for your Echo device. IMO, this restriction should be removed in future updates as I might have found one skill I want to share, but don’t use it.
How to share an Alexa Skill?
- Open the Alexa App, tap on the hamburger menu, and then and select Skills.
- Look for “Your Skills” link on top right of the Skill Home Page.
- Select the skill you want to share, and then look for an icon which looks like upload icon.
- Next, it will open the option to share
Amazon recently enabled the progressive option for Alexa developers which allows any dev to keep the user buys while the skill is busy processing user requesting in the background.
That said, I really don’t like the app because it’s a web wrapper and not a native app. It’s slow. Amazon should roll out a native app which works much faster. Also, the options to add new WIFI is clumsy one. It takes a lot of time even though it works, but to add just another WiFi its just too much.
