Welcome to our first video of the series #ASKWPXBOX, where I have answered questions you had asked us on Lumia 950 XL, and the Continuum Display Dock which delivers PC like experience. Check out the video below:

Question 1: We have to listen to audios in the external device that we use for continuum. but, what will happen when we use a monitor-only device that doesn’t have speakers in it.. Will we still be able to listen audios in our phone speakers ?

Answer 1: Yes, it is possible. Connect an external speaker to your phone either via bluetooth or using an audio jack. This could be little tricky though if you have a keyboard which also connects via bluetooth. In that case, you need to use the dongle that came with the keyboard, and use it with the display dock.

Question 2: Can we connect other Windows Phone or Windows 10 Mobile to Continuum Display Dock ?

Answer 2: Continuum needs Dual Display support from Processors which is only available with Snapdragon 810 right now. So, as of now, you cannot connect other Windows Phone 8.1 device, even after upgrade. If Microsoft choses to add a processor which supports dual display, it may work. Thats a long shot right now.

Question 3: I saw a demo unit in which a keyboard with a touch pad was connected to Lumia 950 XL. But the touch pad response was not that great. Can we install drivers on Windows 10 Mobile to solve problems like these?

Answer 3: There is no way to install drivers on Windows 10 Mobile, but you need to check on two things.

First make sure that Keyboard, and mouse input from other devices are allowed in Continuum. In the Continuum App, the settings are available. Please check on it.
Second, if this doesn’t work, you will need to update your Keyboard Firmware by connecting it to PC.

Question 4: How warm does it get? Does it have a fan? Do you get many Microsoft updates?

Answer 4: It gets warm, but nothing to worry about. There is no fan. For updates, Yes Microsoft sends updates for the dock using the Continuum App.

Question 5: Can you Access USB drives and External Hard Disk through the Display Dock ?

Yes you can. Just plug-in to one of three available USB ports, and then use File Manager App on Windows 10 Mobile to access it. You can perform all copy paste operators from the phone or even through Continuum.

Question 6: Does the Phone Charge when its connected with the Continuum Display Dock ?

Answer 6: Yes it does. However the display remains on. If you lock it, the phone gets into idle state, and so does the Continuum.
