Asus’s Mixed Reality Headset Demo still doesn’t show anything about Mixed Reality
When it comes to Mixed Reality, Microsoft has created enough buzz around by partnering with OEM, announcing dates about its availability, PC Specs requirement, but one place they have utterly failed is demoing the actual AR + VR or the Mixed Reality. Till date, I have tracked a couple of demos that were shown at IFA or elsewhere, but not even one turned to have shown the actual MR where somebody has interacted in the physical world.
Yes, I agree that Microsoft has shown some, but they all look too flimsy and only demo. MSPU spotted one Asus’s Mixed Reality Headset Demo, but then it was an only SteamVR game demo, and nothing to do with Augmented Reality. This is pretty disappointing. Microsoft has a platform, the hardware is ready, but no actual AR/ MR apps that can actually make it prove its worth.

Two StreamVR titles, Skyworlds (which seems a waste of the technology) and action game Space Pirate Trainer, was demoed in this video.
Mixed Reality is finally making its way into Windows 10 with Creators Fall Update on October 2017, and honestly, I have a bad feeling about it. The absence of any demo which proves its worth about MR, will not only disappoint consumers but with Google & Apple ready to plunge into this, specially into the mobile segment, Microsoft better gets this done correctly, and not follow to fail again.
