Bazaar : Desktop version for Homebrew App Management

Remember Bazaar ? Well if no its the first unofficial marketplace for Windows Phone which are using custom roms like ( DeepShining ROM, Nextgen+, intrinsicROM, ) which allows any app to get installed and use all permission, useful for devices which might not get future updates. Bazaar now has a desktop version for Windows PC which allows you to install apps to your phone directly from the client.

Why Will you use Bazaar ?

Works even with Phone which are not fully unblocked :

This biggest advantage here using the desktop version is that you can install apps on even the developer or chevron unlocked phones. Before this WP which were not using custom roms could not use this because install from IE wasnt possible. Also it is not necessary to have Interop unlocked phone.

Auto Update Home Brew Apps :

This I see as major advantage. If your favorite home-brew apps like Battery Status or Opera is available in Bazaar, you get the update when the update is submitted by the dev to Bazaar. It automatically detects already installed homebrew apps on your phone and if they are registered with Bazaar, you will get the update when it comes.

Dont need a Live Id :

You dont need to use your Live ID and Password to use Bazaar, just any email will work.

Bazaar Desktop Client : Brief Review

Overall the client is very well done and detecting apps, your phone, already installed home brew apps just works fine. The only work needed here is improvement in the UI which I guess will come with time. To use this you will still need Zune running. Lets take a look whats in the Bazaar Client :

They do what they say and pretty easy to use but to start using this, I will suggest you to have your account registered with them so in case you move to a full unlocked rom in future, you can download the apps instantly. Favorites part lets you bookmark apps so you can check out them later.

Now from the improvement part, I would love to see notifications for apps which I favorite which will make it sensible for me. May be its not compatible with my phone now but if next update comes and it becomes compatible, notification feature will be useful.
