mGaadi Rolls out it’s Windows Phone App; Book an Autorickshaw in Bangalore with Ease Now
While booking cabs using your mobile phone is a trend all around the globe, it’s time for auto rickshaws to get into the same league, starting with Bangalore. There are few cities in India where these three wheelers take priority over cabs for daily commute and in Bangalore if you aren’t driving a car, you get on the rickshaw.

India Drivers Network Services Pvt. Ltd. is a Bangalore based social enterprise who are trying to improve the experience of customers over commutes starting with auto rickshaw drivers. This is nothing new because even the cab service do the same but they are mixing the social aspect as well as ratings from consumers to get an idea about the driver and commuter experience.
What you can do with the app ?
Like I said above, you can book an auto-rickshaw which gets to your address for a pickup for a pickup instead you roaming around the lanes to grab one. Saves a lot of time for which you pay Rs 10 extra along with the meter fare for the destination when you get down. Check out this quick video on how this works:

To make it even more accurate, you can book a GPS based rickshaw which is tracked by the service continuously though they fall short in percentage. Since most of the rickshaw are non-GPS, the company is relying heavily on commuters to use the app and send them a feedback on the fare and overall experience.

Looking at the app it’s well designed. Here is the list of things you can do:
- Setup your Office, Home address. If your pickup is different, use the current location or search for a landmark using the tools.
- You can refer a driver from your experience. This helps both. A commuter can safely refer his friends the right guy and the company knows that this driver can be called more often with trust.
- A dedicated section for you to check on all your recent trips, call support and learn about fares.
- Once you confirm your booking, you will get the driver name, with ratings, number and approximate time, he will be there for a pickup.
Since they do have more than 1300 drives in their circle, it should not take much time for a pickup if you are ready to spare 10-20 minutes for hassle free commute. Best way would be to plan and book, keeping in mind the waiting time.
