Nokia has released the new Amber update few weeks back and the roll out will continue till the end of September. Amber update sits on top of the GDR2 update from Microsoft. Nokia has added quite a lot of new features in the Amber update. This update is available for all Lumia users, but actual features will depend on the phone. The global roll out of Amber update depends on your country. Although it will be available globally, the roll out will happen in phased manner. So in case you are waiting for the Amber update, here is a simple app which lets you know the current status of the update in your country.

Lumia Amber Check is a simple app which tells you the update roll out status for each country. You just need to select the country from the list and it populates the status for all the phones- Lumia 920, Lumia 820, Lumia 720, Lumia 620 and Lumia 520.

There are three status codes;

1. Waiting for Approval- The update needs to be approved to be released, so you need to wait
2. Coming soon- The update is coming soon.
3. Available- This means the update is already rolled out and you can update your phones to Amber.

The app will not help you download the updates, but just notify you about the status of rollout.
