Chromecast App for Windows Phone — TubeCast
A few days ago, Chromecast API was opened up for developers to interact with the device and let any body develop a third party app which will let you do almost similar things like streaming YouTube videos from your device to your TV.
WMPU reports now that we have an app in the Windows Store which can do that and it can do that without using any of your google account. It’s a simple search and play over to your TV with an already setup Chromecast.
Being in its initial stage, the app right now can only detect a Chromecast in your WIFI network over which your phone is already connected. Good thing is that it does show up all the Chromecast over the network which are available for streaming. Right below that is a search box where you can type in your query to search on YouTube. Once the results are displayed, tap on any video and it will start streaming. The app as of now does not have any media control like you have when using the official Chromecast App.

We expect this app to get better with time. Also I wont be surprised if more players integrate Chromecast API within their apps. So far, the biggest expectation is from MoliPlayer, who already have access to camera roll videos which no one else does.
