Post Windows 10 Devices event by Microsoft, a lot of new Laptops ad Notebooks are getting announced, and it seems HP has taken a lead for the Windows 10 powered devices its planning to bring to the market. Looking at the list below, the line-up looks impressive and if you are finding Surface Pro 4 costly, HP does offers some cheaper, yet powerful alternatives.
HP SPECTRA X2
This 2 in 1 Surface competitor is powered by 6th Generation Intel Core M processor 2 with up to 8 GB ram and up to 512 GB hard disk for super-fast computing and storage performance. You get the 1920×1280 full HD IPS display with build in kickstand which rotates up to an angle of 150 degrees which could be really helpful to adjust the tablet in the way you want while gaming or watching movie. It is just 8mm thick and weights just 840 gms.
It houses a 5 mm thick back light keys enabled keyboard with 1.5 mm key depth for precise and comfortable typing experience. When it comes to speakers, the keyboard holds two of them while on the side you have two more integrated speakers. These speakers are powered by Bang & Olufsen for an unmatched 3D, crystal & clear sound quality.
Spectra X2 also comes with Active Pen which delivers real like flow input which is sold separately and have 10 hours battery life which could have been improved like Surface Pro 4. Coming to camera you get 5 MP Full HD front-facing camera and 8 MP rear-facing camera with Intel real sense 3D technology to get more real 3D images with more depth. There are 2 USB-C Ports and the devices is LTE enabled.

HP Pavilion Gaming Notebook:
The next in the lineup, HP unleashed their affordable Windows 10 enabled gaming notebook for gaming enthusiasts. Pavilion is offering Nvidia Geforce GTX 950M discrete GPU coupled with two processor choices between 6th generation Intel i5 Processor or i7 Processor with RAM up to whooping 16 GB and hard drive storage up to 2 TB.You can also opt in for 1 TB of hybrid hard disk drive or dual storage with 2 TB HD and 128 GB solid-state-drive (SSD) to get lag free gaming performance.
To further enhance high-definition gaming experience, you get 15.6” diagonal high-definition or Full HD IPS display with optional touch. You also get green backlight enabled keyboard with a fierce gradient reptilian pattern on the keyboard deck which is although quite neat but could be hit or miss according to people colour choices. It weighs 5.46 pounds.
Although you don’t get USB-C ports but you do get 2X 3.0 USB ports and two USB 2.0 ports. Audio is again powered by Bang & Olufsen.There are usual HDMI port, optical disk drive, SD card reader.
The starting price for HP Pavilion Gaming Notebook is $899.99, and is available from November 8 in U.S. It is powered by Windows 10.
HP Envy 8 Note:
Envy 8 Note is an 8-inch LTE supported affordable tablet which is just 7.7 mm thick and weights at 0.8 pounds. It offers 1080p Full HD Display protected by Gorilla glass 3. Powered by Intel Atom X5-Z8300 processor for productivity and portability with great note taking capabilities through stylus and innovative keyboard folio.
Those who would want to use HP Envy 8 as near laptops, the company has an exceptional accessory for it. HP ENVY Note Keyboard Folio is a dock for it which is is made from aluminum and offers the same 1.5 millimeters of key travel as HP’s most premium notebooks. The keyboard base includes both an 89 x 34 millimeter click-pad and a slot designed to hold the tablet in place in either landscape or portrait modes.Not only this, the keyboard base can store the tablet into the back for protection and portability.
It comes with stylus which when coupled with HP’s Instant Note software fires up the note for writing with one click of the stylus pen the note gets saved in OneNote automatically.
Making videos call is very common these days, and Envy 8 Note houses a 5 MP autofocus rear-facing camera and 2 MP front-facing camera. Speakers are from Bang & Olufsen Play. There is a micro SIM card slot, a micro SD card reader and a micro USB 2.0 OTG port for charging and connecting peripherals. It is worth noting that keyboard also have micro USB 2.0 port for charging.
HP Envy 8 Note runs Windows 10 out of the box, and will be available from November 8 with starting price of $329 for tabled and stylus. If you choose to buy with keyboard folio, the combo price is $429.
HP Envy 13
HP has just introduced what it calls its thinnest notebook it has ever made. The HP ENVY 13 is just 12.95mm thick and the Windows 10 notebook weighs just over 2.8 pounds. Inside, the HP ENVY 13 has an Intel Core i5-6200U processor running at 2.2Ghz, along with 8GB of RAM and a 128GB SSD for storage. It has a 13.3-inch display with a resolution of 3200X1800, and its battery is supposed to last up to 10 hours.
The notebook will go on sale on October 18 for the starting price of $849.99.
HP Stream 11.6 and 13.3 diagonal notebooks and the HP Stream 11 Pro G2
Taking their Stream series to the next level, HP has announced three more versions including one for the students. Here are the basic specs:
- 11.6 inch or 13.3 inch HDdiagonal display with optional touch.
- Fanless design with Intel ® Celeron ™ processor and 32 GB of eMMC flash memory for quiet, cool operation and quick load times.
- New Colors and stylish gradient designs are available in Cobalt Blue and Violet Purple. The 11.6-inch diagonal HP Stream is also offered in Ash Silver.
- The new 11.6 inch diagonal HP Stream weighs 2.6 pounds and is 18.4 mm thin and packs up to 10.5 hours of battery life. The 13.3 inch diagonal HP Stream weighs 3.42 pounds and is 19.6 mm thin achieving up to 8.5 hours of battery life.
- They come with USB 3.0 port, one USB 2.0 port, one HDMI port, and a micro SD card reader. The 13-inch diagonal HP Stream notebook comes with two USB 2.0 ports. It also includes front facing HP TrueVision HD webcam for Skype chats.
HP’s Star Wars Special Edition notebook.
If you are a big time fan of Star Wars, this is one special edition from HP you just cannot take your eyes off, specially the trackpad which just looks awesome.
Powered by Intel’s Core i5 or i7, it is a 15.6-inch notebook with internal storage up to 2 TB and RAM up to 12 GB which optional NVIDIA GeForce 940M graphics. Its inspired by Galactic Empire and has a “battle-worn” distressed design with “Galactic Empire” written in the unique Star Wars Aurebesh font on the hinge and iconic Stormtroopers on the keyboard deck. The touchpad design mirrors the X-Wing Star Fighter Guidance System and the red backlit keyboard completes the dark-side design. Check out the video below:

HP Spectre x360:
Last in the line is Improved Limited Edtion HP Spectre x360 which improved hardware. It now has Intel’s 6th-generation “Skylake” core processor, 13.3 inch display, Bang & Olufsen speakers, battery life up to 15 hours. The weight of the improved version is 3.2 pundits and comes with Ash Silver and Copper color accents. This limited EditionHP Spectre x360 is up for sale from November 8. The starting price is $1299.99.
