Customize your Windows Phone 8.1 Start Screen
With the release of Windows Phone 8.1, one of the major changes to the OS has been to the start screen. Previously on Windows Phone, you could only change the tile color on the start screen, but now you have the option to add a custom wallpaper and also change the number of tiles on the start screen. This is a welcome move as it gives better customization option for Windows Phone users.
You can use any of the wallpapers available on the internet on your start screen, but then downloading wallpapers from regular sites on a mobile device is not that easy. Here is where apps come handy.
Start Screen Customizer is another free app which lets you change the start screen background. With this app you can change your start screen background to any colour you can think of. You can also create an accent Image, that’s an image with changed colours to match your accent colour.

PolyScreen is a free app which you can use to generate wallpapers stylized with the low-poly look. The app has a very simple interface, but can produce some really great looking images for your Start background. You can have control on the size, padding and color of the low-poly images. Every time you hit the button, it generates a new image.

There might be instances where the apps on the start screen might block the background wallpapers. Tilesparency is the solution to this as it creates blank or empty spaces on your Start Screen so you can show or highlight any portion of your background photo. You can create these tiles in any sizes and the app will make sure that the empty spaces on the start screen gives you better feel.
