Final Fight Z - 2D Zombie Shooter for Windows Phone

While many games these days concentrate on high-end graphics and super awesome background music, there is still lot of space for minimal looking game which can keep gamers busy, specially the casual ones and Final Fight Z is the recent entry to Windows Phone. This game is not available on any other platform for now and after playing a couple of hours, I have to say that its addictive.

Game Play :

It’s a 2D Top down shooter game where players and zombies are represented by pixellated circles and so does the background. You being in the middle have a shooting gun in your hand to kill the zombies approaching you. This game some how reminds of the days where I used to play shooting games on computers.

Designed fluidly, the game gives a joystick control where the left part of the screen lets you control movement and the right is for shooting. You keep your thumb and finger on it and play like you play using a controller.

The game takes place in a spotlight zone with a dark boundary which acts as limit of the area where you can dark part of an area The Zombies show up from every other side and you should be killing them constantly to make space to move around. The Zombies are of different types so make sure you figure out how to kill them.

As you move around, you would get powers like life, increased speed which you need to pickup while you also get to have guns like rocket launcher, machine gun and so on. Good thing is no matter where you are, you would get to see these powers as they show up and you can figure out how far they by the looks of their size.

Leaderboard:

You can set your name in the leaderboard and compete against other online players. The game also includes achievements which you unlock as you play the game. In the same place you get to see how many kills you made and how much run you worked out.

Overall it’s an excellent game and impressed be because of the minimal looks, simplicity and getting me addicted to playing it around for longer duration. The game is free now and seriously worth playing.
