First VLC App Submission to Windows Phone Store gets Rejected

We have some bad news for you folks. Video LAN official twitter handle shared that the first submission of the VLC App, Beta has been rejected by the Windows Phone Store.  Recently VLC opened up beta testing for the app and asked the community to submit their Microsoft account to get beta invites. That counted for 9000 submission and was closed quickly. Windows Phone Store allows a max of ten thousand beta testers and they had to close it.

The app is in works for nearly two years and it was only recently shared that is working on ARM devices including Surface 2.

That said, the rejection cause could be anything and Video LAN has not shared the exact cause or nature of rejection. They are working on it and we hope this get resolved as soon as possible.

As of now, its only MOLI Player which supports all type of media files which is not supported on Windows like the MKV files. Windows 10 was recently updated to support it on native level, and we expect the same to show on Windows Phone as well. VLC will make sure Windows Phone users wont have to pay anything to play such video files, but they havent said anything on the pricing. We expect it to com with a price tag.
