First Windows 10 for Phone Technical Preview will Support Some 512MB Devices

There is a lot of drama around 512 MB powered Windows Phone 8.1 devices & if they will get updated to Windows 10 for Phones. Nokia 520 is the most sold device on Windows Phone, and if this doesn’t get an update, its going to be a big trouble. Microsoft has promised that all devices running 8.1 will get upgraded, but there had been controversies now and then.

Windows 10 for Phones Technical Preview

Many of us are still in doubt, but here is some good news and also a bad news. The first technical preview of Windows 10 for phone will support few 512 MB devices, and things get improved, it the later versions will support more 512 MB device. A list of devices which may or may not get the first build will be released later, which Microsoft is still preparing.

This was tweeted by Gabriel Aul, Engineering General Manager for the Operating Systems Group at Microsoft. He said in this tweet:

Hmmm. Do I cave? Don’t think you can squeeze anything ELSE out of me:-) Yes, we’ll have 512MB devices for 1st prvw.

Notice that he could have said all 512 MB devices, but he instead said “we will have 512 MB devices for preview” which means more devices will be supported in future. Not sure if its going to recent hardware that will decide or the internal storage that will become an important factor.

Windows 10 for Phones Technical Preview is due this February, and it should be around the corner. It will be exciting to see the results. Whats our opinion.
