Flight Control Rocket : Nokia just brought in an amazing Xbox Game for Windows Phone
If you aren’t convinced yet that Nokia can bring good games, Flight Control Rocket for Windows Phone is going to prove you just wrong. Like they said the name is pretty disguised because you aren’t going to land an aircraft safely on a runway, but you will need to guide them to land properly on mother ship without crashing them into each other. This game has been developed by EA for Nokia Lumia Windows Phone.
When playing Flight Control Rocket, you have different types of ships coming towards the mothership. You act as a guide to land them at the proper docking station. There are three types of docking station Red, Green and the yellow. The ships coming towards match these colours and can land only at respective docks.
Each of these ships come in different speed and different direction. This means your reflexes has to be really on adrenaline when guiding them using your thumbs. The situation starts getting complicated when you have tons of them coming in from every direction.
Different Ships behaving differently:
The game devs thought that this wasn’t enough, so they brought in more complication. Apart from different coloured ships, you have different type of them.
- Boots Ships : These ships fly at moderate speed until you give them a direction. Once a direction is given, they just follow it up.
- Swarm : These green colour ships are fast and quick.
- Snakes : These are ship of trails which follow the lead.
- Splitter : Two ships welded together but when you tap they are two individual ships. Worst, you need to guide them one after the other.
- Dropper + Drones : Fairly larger ship which drop smaller ship just as they get close to the docking station or when you tap it. They leave the smaller one behind.
- Shooter + Bullets : Opposite of Droppers.
- Carrier : They have loads of smaller ship which you need to guide to the docks. These carriers are on the move so be careful when shooting the ships one after the other.
Apart from these you have Coins & Starsurges gives you benefits and scores.
Power-ups :
They are called as bots here which give you energy and high scoring points. (Batteries and Crystals). There re different types of bots :

- Short Snakes
- Fast Yellow
- Autoland
- Life
- Invincibility
- Insurance
- Swift Swarm
- Dropper
- Personal trainer
- Resurrection
Tips to play the game :
Apart from being fast, make sure, you know what kind of ship is coming in and helps you decide if you want to keep them looping for a long time to avoid accidents or land them quickly.
You also have to keep a sharp eye on the collision chances. Though the game lights up the warning, but they are at a stage where you won’t be able to do anything. So in case you drew longer path to avoid collision and in the mean time the dock is free, change it quickly.
Should you buy it ?
Absolutely!! Not only the game keeps you on the toe, but it has some awesome music in the background which keeps up the mood. This almost made me feel like background music of old time Bollywood Action movie. Loved it.
