Gallery : Cortana Coming to Xbox One through Major Dashboard Update
Tiles are finally dead for big screens. First, it was taken away from PCs and now they are going away from Xbox Dashboard as well. Xbox Live’s Major Nelson (Larry Hyrb) and Xbox One’s Richard Irving have detailed the brand new Xbox One dashboard which will not only get rid of he tiles, but it will bring in the most awaited Cortana integration.
List of Features you can expect:
- Windows 10 Like animations. Dashboard is getting faster and has huge number of changes
- One click access to sharing & achievements,
- Double tap the Xbox button on the controller to open the new pane which gives you quick access to notifications, messages, Friend list, Settings and feeds.
- You will be able to send out messages, and party invites via Cortana, and get some complex queries done. Right from launching, recording or finding a friend online. As a matter of fact, this is a huge upgrade for Kinect Voice Commands.
- You can see new announcements from developers being pushed to inform about new updates and features. This is going to be great, because many a times the only way to find out if there is an update is by launching the game.
- You will be able to use Cortana during game play.
While we need to wait for this update, Microsoft has rolled out Game Streaming in latest preview update for Xbox One. If you have a Windows PC, Xbox One and can connect your controller with PC over USB cable, its time you try out the streaming features right away.
