That said, I am sure most of us would want to try it out way before that, and Microsoft is making sure the fans will be able to get the multiplayer experience. The beta testing of the game beings on April 18th for who’ve played Gears of War: Ultimate Edition on Xbox One or Windows 10. This will later expand to all Xbox Live Gold members on April 25. Xbox team should drop the codes or make the beat straight away accessible to download once it is ready.

Gears of War 4 made its global debut at E3 2015, and today’s announcement is set to ignite a chain of upcoming revelations about what’s in store for JD Fenix and the next generation of Gears Heroes. In an interview to Entertainment Weekly,  Fergusson, who has worked on every Gears of War shared why the company chose a prequel and not a post trilogy scenario :

The feeling was that, the prequels for Gears would’ve been pre-Locust, and so it would’ve been more the human wars, what we call the Pendulum Wars. We felt like human-on-human conflict was not a Gears game. You have to have a monster to be a Gears game. So we felt like that was a problem. And you kind of run into the problem where you have with the Star Wars prequels where you have the Stormtrooper, and you go like, “OK, what was the predecessor to the Stormtrooper?” And you end up with the “Roger, Roger” robots, right? We felt like the prequel wasn’t the right way to go.
