Gears of War 4’s September Update Brings “Mercy” Map and 500G worth Achivements
The Coalition is rolling out the last but one update this month with one new map, a variation of existing map and new achievements as part of their monthly update promise for the Season Pass holders. This is being delivered via a massive 7.5 GB update, so if you haven’t turned on your console, you better do it right now to keep up with your gaming schedule.
The new map is “Mercy” which is from the Gears of War 3 battleground which is in the home town of the Dominic Santiago’s wife, Maria. The map again going to be intensive for Versus players as it’s built for close-quarters, but there is a high ground for Snipers as well but it’s too wide open.
The second map is Harbor Haze, which is refurbished of the Sniper popular Harbor Map but has introduced Fog / Mist which will almost blind you to look too far. The Haze is dynamic, just like where Wind and Flare keep taking out enemies and player all of a sudden. I like this weather conditions in the Gears which makes gameplay different, and fresh.
Once you update the game, both of these maps are available in the Developer Playlist with Double XP and 20% Bonus Credits for Season Pass holders. They will be rolled out to public for all players from September 12th

Apart from the new maps, there are few more things.
- New Achievements: 500G of new achievements to Gears of War 4. You might see some of the popping up as soon as you try to launch the game.
- New Match Making system now choosing quality over regional locked mechanism. Many a time when you change region, you get lagged out because of high ping time, with this things will improve as it will match you on local data centers with players of similar connection quality more often, resulting in fairer and better quality matches every time you play.
- Gears will roll out improvement for Skill Based Matchmaking to give better quality.

The Season is about to end. Whats next for Gears of War 4?
It has been a fantastic one year of Gears of War 4. We have at least 22 different types of maps, new characters, weapon skins, different Horde Modes, events, achievements, and game score. So how are things going to be post-October when the final set of maps are delivered?
The Coalition says that they will keep it going with fresh new content except for the maps. The first, and foremost is the Xbox One X 4K HDR enhancements, followed by new gears packs, skins, characters, seasonal events, ranked seasons, Esports and balancing improvements.
