Glance Screen Now Lets You Use LockScreen Photo as Background
After a lot of feedback and demand from the consumers, Microsoft has rolled out Photo Support for Glance Feature. The glance screen now can display the same picture in colour or black & white. I kind of liked the black and white more as it’s not solid picture it shows, and B & W gives a classy touch to the whole thing.

Remember this feature does not work with all the apps, so make sure to figure out using the inbuilt help which can also share list of apps. Simplest way to get this done is use pictures in Lockscreen settings. Photos and Bing Health works like a charm. Those who are little worried on the battery consumption, make sure you use the PEEK option to display. This light up the glance screen when the proximity sensor is triggered i.e. when you pick it up, or move your hands over it.
Note: Certain devices like the Lumia 930 which does not support glance feature will not be able to use this at all.
It’s good to see an update from Microsoft on this, as they previously declared that it will not get any future update, but then here we are. The app already displays date, status notification, quick status notification and night mode settings in different colours. You can have it on all the time or set to display at particular interval.
We hope that in future Microsoft will be able to use any background picture ( those are set via an application as well). This is another feature many are looking for when I scanned through multiple forums.
