500,000 Lumia 535 Shipped to India; Hints towards Success of Low Budget Windows Phone Again
According to stats on Zauba for the Lumia 535, over half a million units of the Lumia 535 (Read Review) has been shipped to India till date. Lumia 535 is one of the first devices where Microsoft has right hardware combination, not to forget that it also came with a decent front and rear camera compared to its previous generation. The device is being sold between Rs 8800 to Rs 9200 in India.
While this is not a sales figure, this does point towards a positivity in the market in terms of demand in the country, else Microsoft would not have done it. Half of these shipments were done in January which is still half way.
Banglore Air Cargo accounted for 31.2% of imports followed by Delhi Air Cargo and Bombay Air Cargo which account for 28.8% and 20.5% of imports respectively.
Microsoft introduced Lumia 535 in late Novemeber with lot of offers like 500MB of Internet pack per month for first two months on Vodafone, Rs 6000 worth of Shopping over a period of 3 months on Jabong, Rs 600 worth of recharge via Paytm app (Rs 150 per month for 4 months), Months of Box Tv subscription worth Rs 720 and eBooks worth Rs 1500 from Flipkart
