Halo Spartan Assault Announced for Windows Phone and Windows 8

Something amazing has happened today, Microsoft has officially announced Halo Spartan Assault, first touch based Halo version for Windows Phone 8 and Windows 8 which is totally exclusive for their own platform. The best part ? If you buy both Windows 8 and the WP8 version, you will be able to pause on your PC and continue on your phone!!!  To keep up your excitement, below is the video followed by more details.

Like I said before, this is the first touch based Halo version and it marks how seriously Microsoft is taking Gaming not only on consoles but also on the phone and tablets. Even if you consider Windows Phone, recent months has marked release of games like Asphalt 7 Heat, Spiderman, Dark Night Rises and so on. They all pointed to where Microsoft was aiming towards and this game has laid the first stone making sure to attract gamers to wards their platform.

Most of the gamers love First Person Shooter but since that would need more , Microsoft chose top-down or bird-view approach because the former would need more computing power for graphics and less space on touch screen devices. If you paid attention to the video, you must have noticed that all the controls are glued at the corner, giving you enough space to view what’s on the game.

The game has 25 missions where you can choose to play either Commander Palmer or Spartan Davis. The title will feature weekly challenges, leaderboards, and more than 40 in-game achievements and medals. You can shop for weapons, armors and abilities.

Now since this is a cross platform game, many of you might be thinking if it is too much to pay for the same game twice. If you are gamer, you would not mind paying 15$ knowing that this is a cross platform game. Switching between devices is something we all have dreamed from day one and this is all where it is starting now. Sooner or later we will see game switch even with Xbox One.

Another great question to ask here — Will this work on Low end Windows Phone 8? Looking at the approach i.e. top down the game should work on low end phones like Lumia 520, Lumia 620 & Lumia 720 but I will wait for an official confirmation.

So can you wait till July?
