Handyscan for Windows Phone is a perfect choice if you are looking for an app which scan your documents and gives you most of the features that you expect, once the document scanning is complete. The recent update has not only fixed couple of issues but has also gone on sale for only 0.99 USD which is pretty cheap when you compare to tons of feature it provides. So here is our detailed review.
Features :
This App makes use of the Windows Phone Camera to scan a document like a bed scanner. So once scanned a document or even before it does there are certain features that you expect from the app. So below is the feature list,
- When scanning multiple documents i.e. Bill, You would want to keep them as one single document which this app lets you ultimately create a multiple page document. Scan the first document and keep adding more to it.
- Image Optimization : After scanning is complete, you get three images of the same document from which you can choose the best. If you need better result, you can choose 190dpi mode over default of 80dpi.
- Auto Start : This mode makes sure you have a steady hand when document scanning begins. If you start manually, you will take few seconds to make it stead which is not a good idea but is available as an option.
- Crop : After Scanning you can choose to crop the section as per your need. For example if you have scanned a document which has extra space from other things, which were kept on the side when the scanning was done, you can remove them.
- Advance Cropping : You can choose advance Cropping if you want more precise selection of the document. When using this, it zooms to the section where you hold your finger giving you an edge over normal cropping.
- Align Documents : In case, the scanned document is bit tilted, the app can fix it for you.
- Electronically Sign Documents / Add Signature : Many a times you need to send across a document with your sign on it. You can make use of the Signature feature of the app which lets you add already scanned signature to any document and then save / send as PDF over email.
- Resolution & Quality : The scanned document is of high quality when taken. However, at the time of uploading or sending over email you can choose the size, quality and type (PDF or JPG).
- Cloud Integration : Allows you to upload scanned document to Dropbox & Skydrive. You can also restore from the cloud, in case you switch to a new phone or have previously uninstalled the app.

- Support for Mulitple Presets for Export.
