HinKhoj – An Online / Offline Hindi English Dictionary on Windows Phone
While the traditional dictionary is replaced everywhere with dictionaries on computer and mobile phones, here is one for Windows Phone users who want to find out what an Hindi word means in English and vice versa. Very handy if you are traveling aboard and you are just stuck with either of the language.

Power by online service managed by the guys at HinKhoj, the app servers as bilingual dictionary which works both when you are online or offline when required to make sure you aren’t going mute when you internet gives a duck. The app supports:
- As you search, the words are saved in history and can be quickly viewed. You also save the manually.
- Synonyms and Antonyms of words along with local relevance of the word.
- Toggle switch to make dictionary offline and it works perfectly.
- You can use voice commands to make a search or get to know the word of the day.
- Those are little unaware of how to speak Hindi properly, you can use the Pronunciation feature.
- Auto complete to help you figure out words easily.

That said the app also includes “Word of the day feature” which shows up on the tile itself. This is a handy feature if you are planning to learn a new word everyday.
The app is free to download and use. Also you will need to enable the Hindi keyboard for Hindi to English translation. There will be a simple restart though when you add it by going to Settings->keyboard->Add Keyboard->select Hindi (DevNagri). Without this the app will crash.
