How Much Should You Pay For a Smartwatch in Singapore

If you own a smartphone, you shouldn’t be looking at classic watches unless you need one for a formal outfit. Smartwatches truly complement a smartphone and perfectly replace a classic watch. The only question that remains is which one to get. The price of smart watches in Singapore can vary a lot depending on the make and model. Some of them can be poorly made and if you decide to get the cheapest one you can find, you will be disappointed. Instead, you should focus on a few brands and models that are worth the money, even if they are a bit more expensive.

Apple Watches

If you are an Apple user, there is no way around it. An Apple watch is your best option. You can get the latest model but if you want to save some cash, you can also get the previous generation. For the Apple Watch Series 6 40 mm with GPS, you can expect to pay around S$550, give or take. If you get the Series 5, you should expect to find it for around S$450 to S$500. Comparing the price difference between the two, it would make more sense to get the latest generation.

Fitbit Sense

While Fitbit started as a company that makes fitness bands, their latest Sense smartwatch is a very capable device. The price of smart watches in Singapore starts at around S$300 and the Sense is just $350. It is comparable to the Apple Watch in terms of design but it is Android-based and very well optimized. A cheaper alternative is the Fitbit Versa 3 which is almost the same but uses a plastic case. It is priced at around S$280.

Huawei Watch

The Huawei Watch series is also a great choice for Android users. Even if you own a Samsung smartphone you can pair it with a Huawei Watch GT. The device is similar to the Samsung Galaxy Watch and has similar accessories. It is very well optimized and offers excellent value for money. The Huawei Watch GT2 Pro is around S$300 making it one of the most popular watches from the Chinese manufacturer. If you want something more basic, Huawei also makes the Huawei Watch Fit which is a fitness band with a larger screen and several extra features. The Watch Fit is around a third of the price of the Watch GT2 Pro.

Garmin Venu

Garmin makes a bunch of smartwatches. They do not make smartphones but focus on smartwatches and managed to release several models that are noteworthy. The Garmin Approach S62 is what some would call their top of the line. It has a very large battery and high-end hardware. If we were to compare the Approach S62 with the average price of smart watches in Singapore, the Approach can be seen as being expensive. It is priced around S$700 and if you find it cheaper than that, you are getting a good deal. The Venu SQ is a great alternative. It has a design that is reminiscent of the Apple Watch. Usually, it can be found for around S$300 and has all the features one would need.
