While option to use a background image on Xbox One arrived sometimes earlier, after the New Xbox One update lot of things have changed. Major Nelson of Xbox has now released a new template those who wish to use their own custom background and it allows them to exactly see how it looks like when they would put it on Xbox One.
While the process to apply the background image remains relatively the same, the options have moved and you have few extra step to reach it. You an use your achievement art, screenshot and even Custom Image as background. If you don’t have none, check out the sub-reddit for shared images.
Talking about this, some of the games like Far Cry 4, Tomb Raider have incredible sceneries through the game. You can have them as screenshots and use them as background image. Nothing beats that. Here are the steps to create the background image:
- Scroll left on the Home screen to open the guide.
- Select Settings.
- Select All Settings.
- In the Nav pane, select Personalization, and then in the right pane, select Personalization.
- Select My Home Xbox.
- Select My background, and then select one of the choices on the Your background screen:
- Achievement art. Allows you to use any of your app or game achievements as a background or to purchase background images. To use an achievement, select one of your achievements and then select Set as background.
- Custom image. Allows you to use an image from your Xbox One or upload an image from a USB drive.
Note Custom images can only be used on the console where they were saved. You won’t see this background on any other console that you use. - Screenshot. Allows you to use one of your saved screenshots as a background image.
- Colour Scheme : Instead of an image, you can also choose one of the color squares to use for your background.
Xbox One system also lets you adjust transparency which gives you a better look of your custom background through the tiles and UI which floats on top of it.
Adjusting the tile transparency allows you to better view your custom background through the tiles on the screen. You can choose between Solid, Mostly solid, Partly transparent, or Mostly transparent. To adjust this:
