  • Expand the Microsoft key and check whether the Edge key already exists. If not, right-click the Microsoft key, and select New > Key. Give the new key the name Edge.

  • Rename the newly formed value to HubsSidebarEnabled.

  • On the left pane, click on the Sidebar option.
  • Under App-specific settings on the right, click on the Discover option.
  • On the next page, toggle off the Show Discover option.

3] Disable Bing Button via Command Line Argument

Versions before Edge 113 can use this method. In this method, you can make changes to the Edge desktop shortcut. This is how you go about it:

  • On the left pane, locate the System and performance option and click on it. On the right, you will find the Startup boost option under System. Toggle it off and close the Edge browser.

Note: Make sure to put a single space bar after msedge.exe and paste the command line argument.

  • To save the changes, click Apply. You will get a message stating You will need to provide administrator permission to change these settings. Click on the Continue button and then click OK.
