List of HP’s Windows 10 Laptops Announced at CES 2016

At CES 2016, HP announced two new amazing laptops, Spectre x360, and EliteBook Folio. Spectre x360 is a premium device that comes in two different screen sizes, 13.3″ and 15.6″, offering OLED, and 4K display respectively . The EliteBook Folio, according to HP, is the thinnest and lightest notebook yet, and targets Enterprise/ Business customers. Let’s have a look at both the laptops below:

HP Spectre x360

The HP Spectre x360 was previously available in only 13.3″, now also comes in 15.6″, offering 4K display with 3,840×2,160 pixels. It is powered by Intel Core i5 or i7 processor with Iris Graphics, and up to 16GB of RAM. As the name suggests it’s a Hybrid, and can rotate upto 360 degrees. There ain’t much difference However, we will look into their specifications, separately.

Specifications of Spectre x360 13.3 inch

  • 13.3-inch QHD OLED with resolution of 2,560×1,440-pixels
  • Intel Core i5 or i7 processor
  • 16 GB RAM
  • 1 TB SSD
  • USB 3.0 Type-C port, mini display port, and an HDMI port
  • Battery backup of 13 hours

Specifications of Spectre x360 15.6 inch

  • 15.6- inch 4K display with resolution of 3,840×2,160 pixels
  • Intel Core i5 or i7 processor
  • 16 GB RAM
  • 1 TB SSD
  • USB 3.0 Type-C port, mini display port, and an HDMI port
  • Battery backup of 9.5 hours

Pricing and Availability: The 15-inch Spectre x360 will be available on February 14 (Yup, Valentines Day!) at HP.com, and Best Buy stores, starting at $1,149 in the US. The OLED version of the 13-inch Spectre x360 will come sometime in March, and will slightly be cheaper than the 4K version.

HP EliteBook Folio

First Samsung, and now HP. Looks like everyone has joined the race to create laptops weighing less than 1 kg. We earlier reported about Samsung Notebook 9, which weighs only 840 g, and now HP’s EliteBook Folio, which weighs around 950 g. It has a 12.5-inch 1080p display with resolution of  1920×1080 pixels. It’s just just 12.4 mm thick, thinner than the MacBook! Folio runs on one of Intel’s Core M Skylake processors (either an M3, an M5, or an M7). It’s been marketed as a business laptop, that focuses more on Security, and Video Conferencing. HP team has worked closely with Skype for Business team, to make sure, it offers high quality video calling.

There are other two variants of Folio, one sports a 4K display and the other sports a full HD touch capable display.

Specifications:

  • 12.5-inch 1080p display with 1920×1080 pixels
  • Storage ranges from a 128GB SSD to a 512GB SSD
  • 8GB RAM
  • Intel’s Core M Skylake processors (either an M3, an M5, or an M7)
  • 2USB-C ports with Thunderbolt 3 support

Pricing and Availability: The HP EliteBook Folio will be available in select markets in March, starting at $999.
