Huawei introduces Ascend W1 variant to 4frica

Africa is one of the most unexplored market for technology and specially for Telecoms. The growth rate is not only high but with more accessibility than before, companies now have started putting in more effort and money into the market.  Microsoft is also putting in their effort under 4Afrika Initiative and Huwaei had made its grand presence by launching a Windows Phone there.

This Windows Phone which is branded as Huawei 4Afrika, is more African Personalized phone which brings in apps which is developed by African Developer community and personalized Market Store according to your location.

4Africa Huawei Windows Phone

This phone is a variant of Ascend W1 which was announced few days ago and recently release in Russia. The phone will be released in Angola, Egypt, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Morocco, Nigeria, and South Africa. It will be available in blue, red, black, and white.

Those who are not aware, Ascend W1 is a low-end phone and this variant differs minutely in battery power.  The phone is 4-inch 480 x 800 display, dual-core 1.2 GHz Snapdragon processor, front and rear-facing cameras, and 4GB of internal storage.

It will be interesting to show how the response comes out for this low-end phone even though it’s not the first low-end phone in Africa, Lumia 510 and 610 have already made their presence. However, this is certainly the first Windows Phone 8 phone with low configuration.

As Africa is a growing market, there is a huge chance to I increase the market share of Windows Phone. There are already some strong telecoms like Airtel, tie up with which can help for sure.
