Huawei Watch 2 Launches in India with 4G VoLTE & Voice Calling

Huawei has launched it’s Android Wear 2.0 powered Watch 2  in India with 4G VoLTE voice calling support. To keep it simple, the watch can work as stand alone to connect with the internet when used with a SIM. Here is the list of key features, and specifications:

  • It is compatible with Android & iOS.
  • It sports a 1.2 inch circular AMOLED display.
  • It houses Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2100 processor with 786MB RAM and 4GB internal storage.
  • It includes an HR sensor.

Those looking forward to using it as an activity tracker, the watch software supports activity tracking which includes running, jogging, and so on. It can calculate calories burnt, distance traveled, and modes like Fat Burning Run and Cardio Run. All these are standard features which any fitness tracker should support.  It can also calculate your VO2Max which is an indicator of the maximum volume of oxygen that an athlete can use. It is measured in milliliters per kilogram of body weight per minute (ml/kg/min). Huawei phones include Health App, and you should be able to connect with it to see all your stats in one glance.

When you connect a VoLTE SIM, you can make calls and receive SMS. However, I still would want it to work with my primary number which is on my phone.  The only advantage which I see here is that apps will work on their own, and will not depend on the phone for getting all your notifications.

Apart from the key specs, Watch 2 is IP68 Water and Dust Resistant, includes an accelerometer, gyroscope, ambient sensor, barometer, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, GPS, NFC, Microphone, Speaker, and  Bluetooth 4.1 Light Energy. It houses 420 mAH battery with fast charging. It will get an upgrade to Android Waer 3.0

  • Classic (Bluetooth) : INR 25,999
  • Sports (4G): INR 29,999

While HUAWEI WATCH 2 Sports (Bluetooth) will remain exclusive to Amazon.in, Sports (4G) and Classic (Bluetooth) will also be available in offline retail stores across India. Additional interchangeable color bands will also be announced later this year.
