HP is rumored to launch a new device with whooping 5.9- inch QHD display running Windows 10 Mobile, at MWC 2016. If rumors are to believed, the device will be called Elite X3 and will be a power packed high-end device. Folks at Tech2 have managed to post pictures of the device along with the specifications.

The device will be huge with 5.9- inch QHD screen, and will be powered by latest Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4.9 820 processor (Lumia 950XL runs on Snapdragon 810), will sport 4 Gigs of RAM, 16 and 8 Megapixel rear and front camera respectively.

The handset will only be 7.8 mm thick and will have a dock connector at the back for accessories such as a credit card reader. In addition it will have a USB 3.0 Type-C (C-USB) port for Continuum.

Wait! There is much more! The device will also be supporting Qi wireless charging. In addition to these, it will also be IP67 dust and water resistance. The device is also supposed to feature a Fingerprint Scanner and an Iris Scanner, which is pretty cool. However, if you look at the photo above, Iris scanner is visible but we can no where see Fingerprint Scanner, not even at the back. So, I suspect that there will be a Fingerprint Scanner.

Specifications:

  • 5.96- inch QuadHD display
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 Quad- Core SoC
  • 4 GB of RAM
  • 32GB of storage , microSD expansion up to 200 GB
  • USB Type- C 3.0
  • Qi wireless charging
  • Iris scanner
  • Fingerprint reader
  • Dock Connection
  • 16 -megapixel rear camera
  • 8 -megapixel front camera
  • Windows 10 Mobile
  • IP67 dust and water resistance
  • STD810 military MIL- rating (for 1 -foot drop protection)

As you can see, the specifications are just mouth-watering. If this device turns out to be real, then undoubtedly it’s gonna be the most powerful Windows Phone, yet! We definitely look forward for the announcement and will be covering everything in detail, as soon as HP announces it officially. However, it looks like Microsoft’s “Not making more Lumias and giving chance to other OEM’s” seems to be working.
