Images of Upcoming Facebook Messenger for Windows 10 Leaked ahead of Build 2016

While we expect a lot more apps to get announced, more partnership will make its way to Windows 10 Ecosystem, during Build 2016, Images of alleged Facebook Messenger app has leaked. At first glance those images look close to the web-based messenger app of Facebook, but they do have more features. Windowsblogitalia  first reported this, and here are the list of features you can expect.

  • Supports Notifications. The web solution which we have right now doesn’t support notifications unless you keep the tab open, and it does hit the browser performance.
  • Live Tile will show count for unread notifications.
  • You will be able to send photos, videos, GIFs and more
  • Stickers will be available.
  • Read message confirmation when somebody reads your message.
  • You can create groups for the people you message most—name them and set group photos
  • Forward messages or photos to people who weren’t in the conversation
  • Search for people and groups to quickly get back to them

If the screenshots are accurate, I really don’t like the gap between the sections. It’s rather too much, and by the looks it could be another iOS port. One thing that is missing is the call feature which could have been handy for few if not all.
