India’s Smartron Announces t.book, a Surface Like 2-in-1 Windows Convertible

Yesterday, at New Delhi, a new Indian Startup, Smartron has launched its first Product, t.book. Its a 2-in-1 convertible laptop powered by Intel Core M processor, 12.2-inch WQXGA display, 4GB RAM and 128GB SSD. It houses a 5MP rear-facing autofocus camera, 2 MP front camera. There is also a USB Type C port. The claimed battery life is 10 hours. The devices is priced at Rs 39,999.

The company plans to extend its offline support across 100 cities with doorstep services for those who have a busy schedule. Also, the device will be sold exclusively on Gadget360.com starting April 8. Those who missed the buzz yesterday, Sachin Tendulkar, the well known legendary cricketer is a shareholder and brand ambassador of this new brand.

If one take a a close look a the specification of device, the build specs cannot go unnoticed. The company is using Magnesium and Aluminium for the exterior build, something which is also used in Microsoft best selling Surface Lineup. The display comes with fingerprint-resistant oleophobic coating which is definitely a nice addition for those who will majorly use it for media consumption.

It also comes with a kick stand or rear stand which should give a decent view angle, and grip one will need to work in any way he or she wants. We will have to figure out the maximum angle it can extend do.

When it comes to port you get  2xFull-size USB 3.0, 3.5 headphone jack, Micro SD card, Micro HDMI port, Type C along with USB 3 and magnetic pogo pin for keyboard.

You will have option to choose between Windows 10 Home or Pro. There is also an Office 2016 30 day trial included.

While we havent seen or tried the device in real, the press images look impressive, and almost mimics Surface Pro 4 at many places. If we get to try and review the device, we will get you a full experience of it. Stay tuned.
