InstaWeather Pro for Windows Phone 8

InstaWeather Pro, the popular weather app for iOS and Android phones, has finally landed in Windows Phone store. The app has a unique concept unlike the normal weather apps. You can take a snap of your location or the place you are visiting and then add a weather overlay to the photos and then share it your social networks.

You can either take a photo using your phone camera (front or rear) and then add the weather details of your location along with the photo as an overlay. The interface of the app is pretty good and the weather overlays are neatly done.

You can also pick the photos from the phone and then add the weather overlay. Once the app fetches the weather details for your location, you can select the overlay pattern by simply swiping to the right. There are quite a lot of overlay options available.

Once you have taken the photo or selected the photo from the pictures hub, you can select the overlay pattern and then hit the share button. The app uses the default share options available in Windows Phone to share the photo. The app does not have in-built share options. The app description says sharing to Instagram is possible, but unless you have third party clients like Instagraph or yet to be released 6tagram, you cannot share to Instagram.

You can change the skin and also set the units for the weather from the settings.

Overall, the app does the job well, but we experienced few crashes while testing on Lumia 920, but these issues should be sorted out in next release. The app is priced at $0.99 and worth a try if you are a frequent traveller and share photos of the places you visit.
