Killer Instinct Now Supports Cross-Play with Xbox One and Windows 10 via Steam
Killer Instinct is rolling out a Content Update which will enable cross play between Xbox One and Windows 10 i.e. players on both the sides will be able to play together, just like Gears of War 4, and other cross play games. Killers Instinct for Windows 10 is available via Steam.That said, the feature is still rolling out, and the KI team will test this in small groups to make sure all bugs are sorted out when finding in a live environment. This is being done via an option available in the settings, and it’s not something you can turn on. When it’s turned on, you will see an option as “Cross Play” which gives you an opportunity to jump in. Most of the times this option will be turned off.
Microsoft has been pushing hard to bring more Cross Play on board which started with Xbox One and Windows 10. Recently Microsoft took its first step to talk with Sony to bring Cross Play for Minecraft.
We hope to see more companies taking a plunge into cross play, and not just for Xbox One, and Windows 10 but for all platforms which can bring more and more games together, and free them from the console restrictions. One day I would love to see
