Kinect Enabled Shopping Cart, You thought one can only play games with it ?
Kinect based apps and specially physical possibilities had been increasing right from the day when the SDK cam out. We have seen Banking Apps, Whiteboard Interaction where physically draw things to interact with games, Kinect helping blinds find their way and now we have a Kinect Enabled Shopping cart and your mind will just blow off because this time Shopping Cart is going to follow you instead you pushing it all around.
This video on Geekwire caught my eyes where in future customers carrying a membership card can be scanned by a Shopping cart which can also scan what you want to buy and then do it all for you, guess what ? We are become more lazy!!!
How Kinect Enabled Shopping Cart Works ?
The video shows that the shopping card has a tablet and a Kinect right where it is held and when the member gets his card scanned, the program knows what you want to buy. Of course you would have to get the details stored in before you come.
Next as drop your items from the list, It can scan and keep it marking so you know when all the items has been bought. Now the biggest advantage here is if you wanted lets say Popcorn but without cheese but the one you dropped in has, it will warn you. So what does it do next, it tells you where you can find the item in the shop and even take you there if you aren’t sure.
So what happens when you are done shopping ? Since Kinect been already scanning your products, it takes minute to do s checkout and pay from your account which is already with your membership card. So no more long queues but all you need is getting it packed.

What you saw is pretty raw thing and its going to be more modern and polished. Probably you might not just see so many open things and shopping cart might be more like small vehicles with eyes which might have Credit Card Payement System inbuilt for more payment option. Also since there will be lot more noise in public places, I am sure there will be kind of wireless or Bluetooth headset connection and so on.
