Lenovo to Launch their Windows Phone 8.1 Device later this year
Back in February 2014 at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Microsoft had announced new hardware partners for Windows Phone 8.1 and Lenovo was one of them. We now have reports that Lenovo is planning to launch its first Windows Phone later this year. In an interview with Mobile Geeks, President of Lenovo’s Mobile Division, Lui Jun, has confirmed that the company will launch a Windows Phone 8.1 device before the end of 2014.
There is no other details like the exact launch period, specs etc.
Going by Lenovo’s Android portfolio we expect this device to be mid range or even low end. Many countries including India, Brazil and other emerging markets are seeing huge growth in Windows Phone market share. Indian smartphone vendor Karbonn and Xolo are all set to launch their Windows Phones later this year.
