Lenovo reveals VR Headset; Supports Windows 10 VR Platform
When Microsoft promised to bring affordable VR headset to all who use Windows 10 along with Creators Update , it was pretty much expected that CES and MWC both will see plethora of such headsets.
Today, at CES 2017, Lenovo is the first company to show its first VR headset, a prototype though, that will work with Windows 10 Holographic Platform. Lenovo claims it to be lighter, at 350g, than available solution such as Oculus Rift and Vive.
Reported by Verge, the headset is comfortable, suspends the lenses in front of the users eye, compared to the traditional positioning them in place with a strap.

Here are the highlights:
- It uses two 1440 x 1440 OLED panels for its display. They are higher in terms of resolution when compared to Rift and Vive.
- It has two cameras in the front which will make mixed reality possible.
- The headset does not need any external cameras as it inside-out, six degrees-of-freedom tracking.
- As if now there is no motion controllers for the headset.
- As of now its more like a theatre mode or YouTube 360 degree view.
Verge also reports that the headset doesn’t have name yet, but confirms that it will ship sometime this year, well that’s obvious, and price will be in between $300 to $400 as per Lenovo.
