LinkedIn is directly integrated in Huawei’s EMUI 8.0

While many of us have now started to expect Microsoft to build an Android Phone, but looks like Microsoft have a different plan. While the company did abandon their own Mobile Platform,  they are bringing all Microsoft services to all mobile platforms. There are tons of apps already available from Microsoft for Android and iOS, and in today’s big announcement, Linked is integrated deeply into EMUI 8 which powered Huawei Mate 10 / Pro.

The approach is similar to how Facebook and Twitter were integrated into Windows Phone. You don’t need to install the LinkedIn app but just connect the EMUI 8 phones directly to the LinkedIn accounts. This also means that Huawei and LinkedIn / Microsoft will have to work constantly to keep the API updated through software updates. Microsoft did abandon this because it was too difficult to maintain it. That’s a bit sarcastic, and we will have to see how it goes.

Bob Rosin explains.

Whether it’s reading a message or receiving a phone call, you’ll instantly know more information about the contact, what company they work for and even see their LinkedIn profile photo. And if you receive an email from an unknown sender, with a single click, you’ll be able to see the sender’s professional identity. We look forward to more collaborations with Huawei.

This makes Mate 10 / Pro perfect for business users who are heavily connected with LinkedIn. When you get a call from LinkedIn User, you will know more information about the contact, where they work, the company name, profile photo and so on. The same goes for an email from someone who is on LinkedIn.
