5 Features in Lumia 550 Tells us They are Coming to All Low End Windows 10 Mobile

Lumia 550 comes with low-end hardware (Snapdragon 210), but the phone surprisingly packs in features which during Windows Phone 8.1 days, were missing in budget devices. I expect these basic features to become available in future even on the low-end Windows 10 Mobile, and those which get upgraded ( exceptions will be there).  If Microsoft had all this enabled through Windows 10 or has chosen Snapdragon 210 for this reason, this is a great sign.

Call Recording: This is one of basic feature that users want on Lumias and Windows Phone from long. Lumia 550 comes with a low-end hardware, and it supports it. Here is how you can enable it. I hope this feature gets enabled for all low-end Windows Phone 8.1 getting upgraded to Windows 10 Mobile.

Glance Screen: I still remember many Windows Phone 8.1 users had to wait for the Nokia’s Amber Update to get this feature, specially Lumia 520 / 521 users. This feature is enabled by default on Lumia 550 except that it doesn’t support background images.

Rich Capture & Living Images : This first came through Lumia Denim Update in devices like Lumia 830, 930 and 1520. Thought mostly has hardware dependent, I was so happy to see it on Lumia 550, and I am pretty sure that it should get enabled for all device from now on.

Lumia Motion Data: This feature tracks our movement, on car, walk, and so on, and can also track which places you have been to. First seen on Lumia 630, this feature works surprisingly well on Lumia 550 and can also share the results to other apps and services.

Equalizer: One of the most demanding feature that only was available in mid range Lumia’s. Even the second generation of devices like the Lumia 435, and 532 missed it. Seeing this in Lumia 550 makes me feel confident that it will be available fo all devices in future.
