Lumia 550 goes on Sale in Europe; Other Regions to Follow Soon

Lumia 550 is the first budget phone from Microsoft running Windows 10, and the device is going on sale from today at many places in Europe at a price of $139. Other regions  around the globe will follow in the coming weeks. Its a 4.7 inch phone, a size which has mass appeal, and will be of  huge demand in countries like India.

The phone costs will roughly translate to Rs 10,000 when released in India.  The processor used here is Snapdragon 210 which is an entry level processor with 4G capability, 720 display support, and Quick Charge support.

IMO, the pricing of Lumia 550 is little on the higher side. Microsoft has replaced Snapdragon 400 / 410 series with a cheaper processor here, and the pricing could have been lower, specially when the emerging markets are really competitive. While I am positive about the performance, the pricing model needs to go really aggressive, specially this being the first budget phone running Windows 10 Mobile.
