Lumia 625 Review : Build Quality and Hardware ( Day 7)

I haven talking a lot about Lumia 625 since 6 days now and a couple of you asked about its build quality and what do I think about its hardware. To what I understand is you want to know if the phone is really worth the price, is the phone kind of flaky that you might break it quickly and is the hardware really doing well.

In my last post on Lumia 625 I talked about Battery Life and Performance of the phone. If you want a detailed review, go read it here but for those who don’t the phone did  pretty good  on our battery test with approximately 10 hours a day. Also, the performance of the phone wasn’t slow anywhere which straightforward means that hardware is good enough to deliver what you expect.

Lumia 625 Build and Hardware

Now lets talk about them individually :

Build Quality:

Lumia 625 is designed such that it gives you a feel of unibody design even though the back panel does come out so you can slide in your SD card and micro SIM.  The panel is matt finished which gives you a strong grip but since the phone is little big compared to other, you should be careful when trying to type in with one hand.

The screen is made up of Corning Gorilla 2 which will make sure you will get less or no scratches on long run. It is also tapering along the edges making swipe easy and the back panel doesn’t come in way. I find this design much better than Lumia 820 which has more of a brick-like design.

Not only Lumia 625 looks beautiful from outside it looks pretty from inside two. When you take out the back door of the phone, you would see the block design which holds the battery and slots for SIM and SD Card. Knock and you will know nothing inside is cheap either.

The back panel of the phone is semi hard which means you can bend it if you want. Now even though it can be I would suggest not to test your strength with it. However, when it fits on the phone body, nothing can take it out unless you use your nails. This way you will never have to worry about phone getting scrambled when you drop it.

Hardware:

Lumia 625 even though set in as low range phone comes with a bit faster processor 1.2 GHz compared to 1 GHz processor of other low end Nokia Lumia phones and also comes with Adreno 305 graphics processor which sets its mark just above Lumia 620, 720 and even 520.

Since my 6 days experience, I didn’t see any issues both at gaming and running apps. If you did not check make sure to check out the gaming performance test we did for Lumia 625 and it clearly showcased that Asphalt 7 Heat and Unity engine based, Drift Mania 2 was running super smooth.

The phone also houses the biggest screen of Lumia series which comes with brighter display and strong scratch resistant glass because of Corning Gorilla Glass 2. However it does lack at two places; One that the screen reflects a lot and second the camera is just an average one. It does a good job in bright light but still you cannot compare it with 720.

That said, Its time to get your questions around this. Many of you always want to know on the performance and I am looking forward for specific questions which could be either app specific or game specific. Make sure to ask them and give yourself a chance to win a Nokia Could Pop.
