Lumia 640 is No More Available Post Lumia 550 Announcement

Microsoft India announced the new brand new budget Windows 10 Mobile the Lumia 550 at a price of Rs 9399. IMO the device comes with a little under power processor, and is definitely costly compared to its predecessor the Lumia 640. Lumia 640 was selling somewhere between Rs 8,500 to 9000 and comes with Snapdragon 410. Yes a much better deal.

But guess what has happened? Lumia 640 seems to have vanished from popular Online Retail stores like Amazon India, Snapdeal and Flipkart. Either the listing has been taken down, or they are just out of stock. I even called a local retail store, and even they don’t have the Lumia 640 here.  The only 640 series listed is 640 XL.

While we understand that from business point of view, this was a much-needed move for Microsoft. But replacing one series with another, and that with the same price & lower hardware configuration?  It doesn’t seem to be right from consumer perspective. I expect a lot of Windows 10 fans are already unhappy about it, and more are on the way.
