Microsoft has un-officially dropped the price of Lumia 640 to Rs 8,999 on Flipkart under deals. The device was initially launched at Rs 11,499 with Flipkart as exclusive seller. We were at launch event, and we did told Microsoft that the device is over priced and should have been sold at 9,999.

In few weeks, Lumia 640 was being sold at 9,999 on Flipkart, which then moved to 10,999, back to 9,999 and now the device is being sold at Rs 8,999. Even the official page lists the price at 8,999 with Flipkart badge. While we know this could be exciting for many, this is also little ridiculous to drop the price of the device in a bizarre way. That said, the device gets into a head on with the Lumia 540! Talk about price point now.

The phone houses a 5 inch HD screen with resolution of 720p resolution. Powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 (MSM8926), 1.2 GHz quad-core processor, the phone comes with 1 GB RAM and 8 GB internal storage. It also houses a 8MP front camera capable of shooting video at 1080p and a front camera of 1MP for video calls.

It also has Accelerometer, Magnetometer, Proximity and Ambient Light Sensors. The Lumia 640 comes loaded with the popular Glance screen feature and is equipped with a Corning Gorilla Glass display. The phone houses battery of 2500mAh which makes sure you get enough power to last for a day.
