Expect Lumia 650 to Cost About Rs 16,000 when Launched in India
While Lumia 650 is being touted as the “Last Lumia” of the legendary series, it’s going to make a disappointing exist even though the phone looks charming. WMPU reports that “Lumia 650 will be available for €220 in Central Europe (that’s about $240 and £165). The device is headed to Orange France (as well as Cricket Wireless in the US)”
The price when converted to Rupees, comes to Rs 16,000, which is way too much for its hardware even though it is expected to come with metal build, and looks completely different from its previous generation Lumia. Here is the important specs of the phone.

- 5-inch display with 720p display which supports glance screen.
- 2000 mAh battery
Many are claiming that Microsoft is only going to promote it as a business phone, but iMO, it’s an excuse. The kind of SoC on the phone, and pricing is just not fit for a consumer market which has become very competitive now. Unless Microsoft builds a super competitive budget phone, it is better that Microsoft stays away from this segment.
Just like the Lumia 550, I don’t think Microsoft will get a fancy press event, and will only get into the market with press release. If we get our hands on the phone, we will keep you posted.
