Lumia 920 Gets Storage Checker with 1308 update

Nokia announced on 10th of April 2013 about its 1308 update for Lumia 920 and 820. Though I did not find the update for Lumia 820 but my 920 did show the update today. There are two things that I see new in this update.

Storage Checker is available.
Under display + touch settings, there is a new option which says “Battery Saver Brightness”. This makes sure that when you are low on battery it reduced your battery brightness automatically.

According to Nokia change log there is another update which is related with “intermittent screen blanking during a call”.

I can confirm that this update is available in India also which appeared for me at 5 50 PM IST. The overall process took 30 minutes. Below is the video of storage checker on Lumia 920.

My Lumia 920 was imported from UK and the only time I got an update was in Barcelona. This was kind of scary for me because an unlocked and out of region phone get updated last. However after I saw this update, I was pretty happy.

Along with updates for Nokia Lumia 920 and 820, Nokia has also pushed software update for Lumia 620 which improves a lot of things in the phone. One of the major improvement is the Camera which now has corrected exposure for day light pictures. The update has also improved on touch screen functions including multi-touch response. Voice quality over Bluetooth has improved. Apart from these you have improvements for system stability, performance, and usability

Nokia is pushing the updates faster than ever before bring better updates and new features. This not only makes sure that overall user experience for Nokia Windows Phone is increasing every day but the trust on the company has also increases. As a matter of fact, recent reports say Nokia is major share holder in Windows Phone section.
